Yes. Apple's butterfly keyboards (2016-2019) are infamous for sticky keys, key chatter, and dead switches. We replace the full top case with the latest revision butterfly or scissor-switch (depending on model availability).
Apple's programme has expired for most affected models (it covered 4 years from purchase). If you're outside the window, we offer the same kind of fix at workshop-direct prices, often R3,000-R5,000 cheaper than Apple's out-of-warranty repair.
2-4 hours for most models. Newer Pros with stacked components take longer. We test every key before handing the device back.
Sometimes, but liquid often spreads to the logic board too. We do a free diagnostic before quoting. If only the keyboard is affected, replacement solves it. If the logic board has corrosion, that needs ultrasonic cleaning first.
